Personal Side

It truly is GOOD to be home.

We arrived safely from Ukraine on Friday night at around 11 PM.

I was back in the saddle early Saturday morning and stayed up all day.

Jet Lag has not plagued me at all.

I'm so thankful.

My daughter had her gender reveal party Sunday and we are having a BABY BOY!

We are greatly anticipating his arrival in December.

This holiday season is definitely going to be like no other.

No cookie decorating here yet......but I'm planning on

working on cookies during this holiday weekend.

And I have some VERY EXCITING news coming up soon.

Once I arrived home from Ukraine.....some pretty crazy things happened....

so buckle up and start anticipating some huge changes around here.

God is so good to bless me in this way!

Autumn is just around the corner.

I can't wait to start decorating the house for the season.

♥♥♥

Meagan's Wedding Shower Cookie Collection

My daughter, Allison, was matron of honor at her best friend's wedding in June.

Her BFF, Meagan, LOVES my sugar cookies.

She's been one of my biggest fans for many years.

So of course I wanted to make some cookies for her wedding shower.

It was so fun to take her wedding colors and make some elegant & pretty cookies.

And she was thrilled!

It always makes me so happy to delight others with something I love to do. :)

💗💗💗

Here's sweet Meagan (center) with my daughter, Allison (L) and me (R).

What a fun day we had celebrating her upcoming marriage.

Wedding Shower Mason Jar Cookies (Tutorial)

My daughter just had her first bridal shower at the end of March.
Guess who made cookies for the event?
Yep.....yours truly. ;)

Using the shower invitation and theme......the first cookie created was a mason jar.
What a popular cookie shape?!
When I first posted a photo on Instagram.....people went crazy.
Who would have thought?

There are a number of sites that offer a mason jar cutter.
I have searched and searched for where I might have purchased this tall thin version.
And sadly......I can't find the online store. :(
(I guess that's pretty bad when you can't remember where you bought something!)
But have no fear......you can obtain a mason jar cutter from almost every cookie cutter store. :)

Outline and flood the jar in your choice of 10-second glaze color.

After approximately 2 hours, make some jar top creases with a cake tester across the crusted glaze.

Accent lines are up to the decorator's discretion.....but I used the graphic from the shower invitation.

Allow the cookies to dry overnight.

To give it a glassy finish, paint pearl sheen airbrush color over the top of the jars.

The companion shower cookies will be coming up soon.....

CookieCrazie's Week in Review

Personal Side

My cold has hung on another week. :(
It's been challenging to push through......
especially with company here for Neil & Becca's engagement.
But I've rested lots this week and other than a couple of
small cookie orders, I've been chillin' and
today I'm FINALLY feeling a lot better. Yeah!

Well now you know the big secret in our family that I alluded to last week.
We are VERY VERY excited.
The wedding is planned for Monday, December 31, 2012.
That's less than 4 months from now.
Wow!
I still haven't figured out what I'll do for their wedding cake
and wedding cookie favors......but I still have a little time. lol

It's been a very good cookie week for me.
I did wedding shower cookies......
and a medical set of cookies for a thank you.
I was happy with how they all turned out. :)

Engagement Cookie Joy.....

Back in the saddle on Tuesday.....after the long busy weekend.
Ironically......I was doing wedding cookies. ;)

Wednesday morning brought a huge thunderstorm while I was finishing wedding shower cookies.

I had fun with this "fall-ish" set.

Thursday morning.....bright and early......
making new glaze colors out of old glaze colors.

I thought this set would be harder to guess.....
but many of my FB & Instagram friends guessed it right away.

Day one of the medical cookies.....

Day Two brought all in all the fine details.
What a fun set!

Last week's chatter....

Wedding Shower Dresses & Tuxes

I was asked to do the cute little heart cookies with bride dresses and groom tuxes. I had done them a LONG time ago, just for the fun of it, but this time I got to do them for an order. Fun!

The client didn't want tuxes.....but rather suits with ties. I did my best......but there still a bit sloppy. Precision is definitely not something I've mastered with glaze.

But the client was happy.....and that is all that matters, right? :)

I'm staying inside today.....doing cookies of course. ;) The heat index was 112 yesterday.....and is supposed to be as bad or worse today. Yikes!
