Finn's Lumberjack First Birthday Decorated Cookie Collection

It's hard to believe, but my first grandchild has turned one year old already! He was born November 2016 and suddenly one year rapidly went past us, and he turned ONE! Wow.

My Finn (Finnegan Asher) is all boy. And he's super precious. (Spoken by a new grammy....) He was born premature (34 weeks) at 4.1 lbs and things were a bit scary on his birthday. My daughter was in critical condition and they had to deliver Finn in an emergency. But praise God, he has grown and developed well this last year and is all over the place now. You'd never know by looking at him that he was so small when he was born.

I've enjoyed decorating cookies for many many years now......but nothing tops making cookies for my grandbabies. What a joy it is to dive in there and create memorable cookies for their very special days. I count it such a privilege for the opportunity.

Happy Birthday Finn! 🎉🎂🎈  We love you so much. ❤️

[I made lots of YouTube videos of most of the individual cookies presented in this collection. So be sure to click on the links down below to view the videos.]

Personal Side

It's Easter week.....and it's such an exciting time to think about spring and new life. :)
I'm so thankful for this time of year and the reminder of God's incredible gift of new life.

I had the pleasure of creating a bunch of cookies this week using Ronee's new tea set cutters.
It was fun to make two completely different sets and compare them.

My family is getting together on Sunday for Easter and I can't wait!
I enjoy having all of them here together so much.....probably because it is so rare.
I know the time will go by quickly, but I'll savor every moment.

I wish you all a blessed Easter celebrating Resurrection Day!

“You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.
He has risen! He is not here.
See the place where they laid him.
But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee.
There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Mark 16:6-7

Grapevine Wreath Cookie (Tutorial)

Grapevine wreaths are so pretty.....and they always make me think of spring.
Why not cookie one, right?

Outline and flood the base of the wreath with brown 10-second glaze.
(see photo below)

Wait at least 15 min.....
And then use a #2 or #1.5 round tip to start making some random vines
all over the wreath in the same brown icing color.

After another 15 min, pipe another round of vines.
Just hold the tip over the wreath and allow the glaze to fall where it may.

And if desired, use a grass tip with brown edible clay, to pipe some very 3D vines on top.

Embellish the wreath as desired.

Mine has a plum edible clay molded bow, some green vines/leaves with green glaze,
and some molded edible clay flowers in various colors.
