Personal Side

Another Fabulous week......
I'm grateful to do a job I absolutely LOVE!
Thank you, God, for that gift. :)

Mother's Day cookies are completed.
They turned out so fun.
I can't wait to share all of them to you.

Next week, I'm going to do one final run on the Edible Glaze Modeling Clay.
Hopefully, soon afterwards, I'll be ready to do a blog post on it. Yeah!

This weekend is the blessed holiday of Resurrection Day.
We'll celebrate at church......
but we'll wait until next weekend to celebrate with all my kids.
Two of them are being "shared" amongst two families.....
and rather than only have them for a few hours on Sunday.....
I chose to let them go to their guy's families this Sunday.
That way, they come to our house for the ENTIRE Sunday next week.
It's like celebrating the holiday twice as long.
:)

Airbrushing & Edible Modeling Clay......
First attempt....but I'm already lovin' it.

Pretty pastels from last week's experiments.
Happy Monday!

Cookies.....the new donut!
Haha (Two of my favorite food groups in the pre-HealthyNewMe days  ;))

Woah! I got some new molds since my successful edible clay experiment last week.
This new set has me even more excited!

Personal Side

Fabulous week......

I tried two new things this week....and both were successful.

I got a new airbrush and had success using it this week.
I purchased one a few years ago and it broke within 3-4 months. :(
At CookieCon, I heard about an inexpensive one that I subsequently ordered from Amazon.
I'm certainly not a pro at it, but it got the job done.
I was happy with the results.

Then I finally found the right combination for a corn syrup edible clay.
I had bought several silicon molds over the Christmas holiday and was anxious to try them out.
I had some failed attempts at a clay these last few months.
But this week....it came together!
And the cool thing......it is basically the same ingredients as my glaze......plus butter.
YEAH!
It tastes like buttercream! Mmmmmm
I'm so excited.

Then......I was asked to teach a glaze class on a Cookie Cruise that is happening in January 2015.
Once again.....super excited.

This next week.....I need to get some Mothers Day cookies done for the blog.
I've got a great idea for a collection that I hope is going to work out. :)

Happy Friday!

Awesome cutters....many of them custom that I ordered from Piping Mad Prints.
It brings a cookier joy to see such pretty cutters.

Bridal Shower beauties from last week.....

Wait......before you throw something at me, read my disclaimer.
These snowflakes were made for a cookie project I'm teaching in November.....
and not a reflection of the current season or a desire for more S***. Haha

A week from Sunday.....how did that happy so quickly?!

I can hardly contain my excitement!
I learned two amazing techniques this week.
This cookie shows both of them.....
First.....airbrushing.....can you see the little shimmery hearts on the background of the cookie?
And then I had success developing a corn syrup "clay".
This allows me to mold pretties to put on top of the cookies.
Happy happy happy!!

Bunny Head Cookies (Tutorial)

Awww......Bunnies!
It wouldn't seem like spring without 'em. :)

Cut out some bunny heads and go to town.
You can add some carrots if you'd like. :)

Outline and flood the entire bunny head with your choice of glaze colors.

Allow the base coat to dry for about 1 hour (longer if there's potential bleeding issues).

Using a contrasting color (white on color.....or color on white),
outline and flood the insides of the ears and the lower part of the bunny face.
(see photo below)

After this has dried for a short time (15 min), add large circles of glaze for the eyes.
Immediately drop a black pearl on top of the circles.

Dry overnight.

Add pink cheeks by dusting on dry pink luster dust.
Add eyebrows, whiskers, and the mouth with a black food color marker.

Easy peasy......and high on the cute-ness factor. :)
