Heavenly Peace Christmas Decorated Cookie Collection

There's a serenity in the Christmas season like no other.
This cookie collection seeks to emulate a tiny portion of the peace that can be found in the Christmas season.

May you experience incredible peace and joy this holiday season!

"This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”'
Luke 2:12-14

Personal Side

Can you believe Christmas is just TWO WEEKS from today?!
I'm so grateful I've been able to do lots ahead this year.....
that certainly takes some of the stress out of this busy busy time of year.

This weekend is my last weekend to work at the hospital lab.
I've decided to push away from that job in order to free up Sundays and holidays.
Health care occupations certainly include the worst work hours of the week.
Since I've been doing it on and off for almost 30 years....
I think it's time for a change.
I guess I will have even more time to devote to family and cookies.
Who knows what God has in store in the coming days?!

There's a new social media (very similar to FB) that cookie decorators have migrated to......
so just in case you'd like to try it out, here's my TSU page.
If you need an invitation, use my short code "cookiecrazie".
Hope to see you there!
Maybe we will all actually get to SEE each other's pages that we've liked. ;)

I've been made fun of for the kind of cookies I'm working on right now.....
so I'll refrain from divulging my obsessive "staying ahead" tendencies. haha
Have no fear that you will see these cookies in the coming weeks.....

Snowflake Stamper Cookie Cutters (Tutorial)

Snowflakes are such an iconic part of the Christmas season.
It is so wonderful to find a snowflake design that is both beautiful and easy to use!

I'm in love with these snowflake cookie cutter plungers.

http://www.karenscookies.net/Mini-Snowflake-Cookie-Stamper-Set-of-4_p_2149.html

There's more than one way to use these cutters.

The simplest way is to use the plungers to make stamped cookies.
After the cookies are cool, make a thinned white glaze and carefully dip the imprinted side into glaze.
The glaze will stick to portions of the cookie, giving it a casual unique look.
Add some white edible glitter for some sparkle.

Two other possibilities......
First, outline and flood the cookie with glaze and allow it to dry for about 4 hours.
Then use the stamp within the plunger to imprint the glaze.

Here's a video on stamping the partially dried glaze:

Finally, paint diluted color gel or silver dust onto the designs of the impression-ed cookies.

Personal Side

Christmas was wonderful.
We were all together......
and had lots of great time to enjoy each other, good food,
and celebrate the birth of Christ.

And all too quickly, it was over.
Almost everyone went home......and we had a much quieter house.
I challenged myself to get all ten Christmas trees plus decorations put away on Monday.
With some help from my boys......I did it!

The house is clean.....but seems a bit empty.
However, once all the clean-up was done from Christmas, it was time to get back to COOKIES!
Yeah. :)

This week I've been working on Valentines cookies.
I'm getting a few requested tutorials together.
And trying to get ahead before the CookieCruise 2015 happens in just THREE weeks!

Happy 2015, everyone!
