Apple Cookies (Tutorial)

Now there's a classic shape........an apple.
An apple cookie can be used in many different themes.
And it's quite simple to decorate.

If you don't already possess an apple cutter,
here is a new CookieCrazie custom apple cookie cutter available at the Creative Cookier.

Or if you'd rather use a common cutter,  try cutting off the bottom tip of a heart cookie.
Or use the common diamond ring cutter.

Outline and flood the apple in red or green 10-second glaze.

After about 90 min dry time, press into the top part of the apple to give it an indention for the stem.
Add the stem with a 1.5 PME tip using tan glaze.

If there is available room, add a green leaf to the side of the stem.

Give the leaves about 1 hour dry time before indenting them with some veins using a scribe.

Use your imagination to add in all kinds of different apple sizes and designs
to spice up the platter of apple cookies.

Back-To-School 2014 Cookie Collection

I know it is not near as fun for students to think about Back-To-School time
as it is for cookie decorators to make cookies to celebrate the season.
But then, students don't get to make cool cookies like buses, lockers, apples, chalkboards, etc. :)

There's something really awesome about back-to-school colors too.
I love the primary red, blue, green, yellow.....they all look so great together.

I had a wonderful time creating some fun cookies for this theme.
I hope the back-to-school experience is a good transition for all. :)
