Personal Side

It's been a hard week.
I know you've all been there.
I started with a cold Sunday night.......
and the loss of energy and the overall "yuck" feeling 
has been in the driver's seat the entire week. :( 

 I had so much to do this week.
You'll find out why soon...... hint hint
but I had to push myself every step of the way.
And as for the cookies I did......
I made a few really special ones and then pulled at the markers and finished the rest. ;)

I didn't take many Instagram photos this week 
since I was working on a secret project that I couldn't reveal in such a public place.

But I promise to get back in the swing of things this next week.
I have two fun projects to do then,
and can't wait to share the process with you.

Today (Saturday) is an exciting day for our family.
I'll share as soon as all the secrets are out of the bag.

It was a lazy rainy Sunday last weekend.
Sitting on the porch was such a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Cookie clean-up......the most un-favorite part. haha

This week I made almond milk for the first time.
It was a good experience.

Sometimes color palettes are really hard.
For my surprise project, I really struggled with which colors to include.

These are the ones i ended up with.
Purple, red, gold, & black.......interesting. :)

The first day of decorating......I just had NO energy,
so I outlined and flooded the cookies.....and left the rest for later.
It makes me sad when cookie decorating becomes a chore instead of a joy.....

Hopefully next week will be a brighter place. :)

I guess I'd say this CookieCrazie Chatter is mostly for my OCD tendencies.
Some how recapping my week helps me see what's been accomplished
regroup a bit.....
and TRY to slow time down just a bit.
I know......CRAZIE thought......but it's me.

Another week has slithered away. And we are rapidly heading into FALL. 
Even though that makes me incredibly happy.....
it also alerts me to how quickly things are passing by.

Enjoy the moment......it's only here, for.....well.......a moment. lol

Personal Side

Everyone's settling into a new routine.
My baby girl, Allison, started college on Monday.
It's been an emotional week for her (LOTS of changes),  but I think we've survived. ;)

I've been busy making an assortment of cookies.
Yesterday was a WHOLE day of decorating. I LOVE those kind of days.

Our family has some fun things coming up soon.....can't wait to share.

to look just like I wanted them to in that basket.

Personal Side
It's been a great week to ease back into my cookie life
after recovering from my Ukraine trip.
My sister needed some cookies to thank a neighbor.....
so I took the opportunity to make a few extras too.

Since I feel like I missed the opportunity to do back-to-school cookies......
I decided to dive right into FALL cookies. 
I'm excited.
I absolutely LOVE fall.
Just the thought of cooler weather and beautiful leaves leaves me giddy.
I have this fuzzy warm blanket that I adore.....
and I can't wait to start using again. :)

Three of my kids are heading to college this week.
My youngest will be a freshman this year.
I guess I won't see her again until Thanksgiving or Christmas
even though she lives at home.
She'll be going to school, working, studying, or sleeping. haha

I just made the chocolate part of the marble cake.
Then I drizzled it with this Chocolate Glaze.
WOW!

Ahhhhhh.......so happy to be playing with cookie dough again. :)

I shared the cool apple basket I received as a gift in Ukraine.
Love it!
And later this week I filled it with apple cookies. Fun!

A special box of cookies just for my sister. 

I got some new frozen pop makers.
Now I can make healthy popsicles. :)

There's those apple cookies I spoke of....

As soon as I finished them.....
I wanted to try again. These didn't turn out how I'd envisioned.
I want to get it right next time. :)

Personal Side

The Ukraine trip was a HUGE success.
So many great things happened.
I can't possibly describe it all here,
so instead I will share the links to all my blog posts
in case you are interested in reading our adventures.
 
 
And even this week, I heard one of the best stories  from our trip
from a lady who attended the women's camp.
Her daughter lives here in the States and 
"just happened" to read my blog about our women's camp.
She called her mom in Boryslav and 
encouraged her to get a ticket to go to the women's camp.
The mom attended the camp.
Her comments after the event were that 
she never knew what the Bible meant about
our body being God's temple. 
For the first time, she realized she needed to take care of her body.
She told a good friend of ours that she will be praying for me
often......asking God to continue to send me to Ukraine
to share these life changing Bible messages with Ukrainian women.

WOW!
Isn't that amazing that God used THIS blog to bring that woman
to the women's camp and taught her profound truth that has changed her completely?
It still stuns me to think about it.....and gives me chill bumps too. :)

and pecans with a light yogurt honey mustard dressing. Mmmmmmm

This week was my "vacation".
Since the Ukraine trip is the opposite of a vacation,
I decided to take a rest this week and let my jet lag pass.
Funny how I view working in the kitchen as a vacation.....but I do!
I tried several new recipes and enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm loving my two new cookbooks from The Spunky Coconut.


 Mmmmm.....summer peaches.
I could have eaten the whole box but I refrained myself. ;)

(a phrase we often say while in Ukraine......
because you never know from moment to moment what is going to happen.)

Personal Side

Six days until I leave for Ukraine.
Today, I'll finish all the cookies for the trip.

I've got several big projects I want to complete this weekend......
including loading up some blog posts on here for while I'm gone.
You can't get rid of me that easily. ;)

I work tomorrow at the hospital.....and then I'm off the next three Saturdays.
That means I don't go back to work at the hospital
for a whole month. Wow.

There's lots for me to remember for packing and the trip.
And there's lots for me to remind my family about while I'm gone. ;)
Just lots to do, period........heehee.
