Woodsy Valentine Decorated Cookie Collection

A little different take on Valentines Day.

It gets more and more challenging to think of new ways to decorate heart cookies. :) This woodsy set falls in the UNIQUE category for my many Valentines cookies. hee hee

This is another holiday that I LOVE decorating cookies for. So you’ll be seeing more Valentines cookies……I’ll probably do a traditional style along with attempts at some unique designs.
Stay tuned…

Puffy Stitched Heart Decorated Cookies

I've had a photo saved from several years back of little fabric hearts that have been stuffed to make them "puffy" and then stitched around the edges. I've attempted numerous times to emulate them, but this time, I think I finally nailed it.

I've done my best to incorporate thickened glaze into my list of favored mediums. It really does hit the spot for certain designs that just don't work any other way. If you add lots of powdered sugar to glaze icing, it eventually becomes something you can mold in your hands. It's still sticky, but doable.

I'm so glad it worked for these puffy hearts. The moldability provided a way to make the stitch holes right after putting the glaze on the cookie. It gave exactly the effect I was going for! 👍

Valentines Gift Tag Decorated Cookies

My love for gift tag cookies has not waned a bit in the last year. I believe I have done them for nearly every season and occasion. haha I just can't get enough of them. The best part of the idea is that it is extremely versatile and customizable.

Here's my favorite gift tag cutters:

Trust me......once you start making them, they seem to sneak into every cookie collection. ;)

Rustic Weathered Wood Ombre Heart Decorated Cookie

This idea came when I saw a photo of a rustic ombre heart with vintage paint across the wood surface. So I guess it's a combination of ombre, wood plank, and peeling paint. 😳

Add impressed lines across the cookie dough before baking.
Paint the cooled cookie surface in white food color gel.
Using thickened glaze, spread random amounts across the planks to give it that rustic look.

A fairly simple technique for a very trendy design... 💗

Heart Patchwork Quilt Decorated Cookie Collection

If you've been around this blog for any length of time, you know how much I love quilts.....and how I love to incorporate them in my cookie sets.

This one didn't require any special cutters or patterns. I just took nine square cookies and imprinted hearts within them before baking to create a 3D illusion.

The decorating process was fun because I kept the cookies together the entire time and decorated them all at once. I even have a video to prove it. :)

It was super fun to make a simple, yet effective quilt pattern... made with tons of love.
