Personal Side


The wedding was wonderful!
It was so nice to have the whole family home.....and enjoy the union of Joe & Jill.

The weekend went by in a flash......and suddenly everyone went back to their homes.....
and I was back in the house alone.
It's such a stark contrast.

But......I had already baked up some cookies and got crackin' early Monday morning.
I did a fun glamor set this week......in navy and fuschia.....same colors as Jill's wedding.
I tried so many techniques, textures, and methods that it had my head spinning at times.
But then.....I never do anything easy. haha
The collection is now complete and I'm very happy with it.

Next week I'll decorate some more fall cookies.
There are so many designs and shapes I want to try.....it's hard to get them all in.

Personal Side


I am so glad that I got all the wedding cookies decorated and packaged last week.
That allowed me to relax a bit this week and have a lot less to prepare for the wedding.

Last night, my son arrived from Florida.
Today, my other two sons and my daughter-in-law come in town.

And then the fun really begins!
Tonight is the wedding rehearsal and dinner.

Tomorrow afternoon is the wedding!
My sweet Jill is marrying Joe tomorrow.
It will be a wonderful event.

Next week.....I'll be back at cookies.
 
For now.....I'm basking in the love of being with my whole family.
I'm indeed blessed!

Wanting to keep my mind on the right things as I prepped for the Ukraine trip.....
I incorporated Philippians 4:8 into the cookie theme. :)
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, 
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."


So now you know one of my upcoming cookie themes. ;)
I'm anxious to start decorating with Creative Cookier's new Big Bodacious Alphabet.


Since my daughter's wedding is just two days away.....
I thought I'd flashback to my son's wedding in Dec 2012
Wonderful memories.....and to think we are about to make MORE awesome memories 
after Allison's wedding just 3 ½ months ago

Personal Side


This Friday finds me back at home and diligently preparing for my daughter's
wedding just one week from tomorrow.

Arriving home from Ukraine and sleeping in my own bed last Friday night was pure bliss.
Then I took an entire day to do laundry, pay bills, and clean off my desk.

On Sunday, it was time to jump back into life and start decorating 200 wedding cookies!
I had to work Labor Day Monday at the hospital......so that took a chunk out of my week.
But some how, I managed to get finish decorating yesterday.
And now all I have to do is package each one of them. :)

Once they are finished.....I plan to start preparing for my family's arrival next week.
I want to decorate the house for fall.......
and prepare some yummy foods ahead so that I can
concentrate on enjoying my family while they are here.

My husband and I are official empty nesters as of last month.
While I was gone in Ukraine......my son moved about 3 hours away.
The house has been pretty quiet now that I'm back.
I miss him a bunch.....but I know the move was a good step for him.

Ginny of Creative Cookier has partnered with me to help raise funds for Ukraine missions.
She is producing CookieCrazie custom cutters.....and donating a part of the sales to my efforts.
In August.....she sold 79 of the CC custom cutters!
How awesome is that? :)
Thanks to all of you that have ordered some of those cutters.
Ginny & I are excited about the substantial impact the cutters sales
could have on next year's Ukraine trip.

I have many ideas rolling in my head for more custom cutters.
Stay tuned for exciting news and tutorials on this new venture. :)

Personal Side


My time in Ukraine is coming to a close.
As you read this (Friday) I'll be on my way home.
We leave Friday morning from Ukraine (8 hours ahead of CST)
and will arrive home at nearly midnight Friday night, CST.
It will be a very long Friday. :)

Our trip has been fabulous.
The people were beyond excited to have us this year.
There weren't too many groups that came this summer.
In fact, only two in Borislav......and Dave & I were one of them.
They were elated that we would take our "vacation time"
to come visit them in their country's time of unrest.

Needless to say, they showered us with blessings....... always more than we give.
When they asked why we would come to Ukraine with it's war going on......
we told them that there is some huge unrest right in our back yard in America.
Ferguson, MO is just miles away from us......and in some ways, that is war torn too.

So there is no place on this earth that is truly "safe".
Thankfully we have hope in the Lord Jesus and could share that with many.

I hope to write a post about my trip and all the cookie-related things that happened.
It is amazing how cookies can make such a huge difference.

Again, I thank you for reading my blog and supporting me in my ministry.
I feel incredibly blessed at this time.

We call ourselves "wifi deprived". 😊

We have completed all our work in Ukraine.
Today is a "free day" to rest and enjoy our host family.
Tomorrow (Friday) we return home.
It has been an amazing time here filled with incredible memories and blessings.

Cookie'sCool in Genoa, Italy November 14-16, 2014 (Part 2)

Later this year, I have the privilege of being an instructor at a
cookie school in Italy called Cookie'sCool.
The event will offer hands-on classes by several amazing cookie instructors.

Each class will be two hours of technique instructions and then
hands-on decorating for each participant.

I shared some of my projects in a previous post back in May.
Now I'm back to share the changes we've made to my classes and show some more photos.


The peacock cookie platter is still planned as part of the line up.


The other two projects (wet-on-wet technique with markers & flower cookie pops with BRP Boxes)
have been laid aside to incorporate some of my newer techniques
that the CookiesCool organizers were interested in.

I'll be sharing how to make all these items for an "American Breakfast"..... cookie style.


Next up...... Christmas Quilt Cookies.
Since CookiesCool is held right before Christmas, 
we were encouraged to offer some classes involving the holiday theme.
I love this style of cookie-ing, and am anxious to share it with participants. :)


Many folks have asked me about the wood grain on my apple tree cookie platter.
That technique, along with how to assemble this apple tree, will be another one of my classes.



And my final class will involve these Quilted Christmas Tree Cookies from last year.


It's going to be a fabulous event!
