Amusement Park FUN Decorated Cookie Collection

We are deep into summer and what better cookies to depict the fun and action of the season but an amusement park theme.

When planning this set, I tried my best to add all the things that bring back the most memories experiencing the best in all those parks. :)

Enjoy your Summer everyone!

Neon Sign Styled Amusement Park Decorated Cookie Collection

After stumbling upon the idea of doing neon sign styled cookies back when I did a coffee shop cookie set, I can't get enough of it.

Here's a tutorial on neon sign styled cookies.

I just HAD to make a fun set in a summer-y amusement park theme. :)

CookieCrazie's Week in Review

_________________________________________________

Personal Side

Another fun week of cookies......
I'm so blessed to do something I LOVE doing!

This week I did camping cookies.
The funny thing is that I hate to camp!
But I've always wanted to do all the fun shapes associated with the pastime.

I'm moving on from summer-related cookies next week.
Since I do cookies in advance.....it's time to move to the next season.
I know.....it's CRAZIE to think about autumn right now!

But I also want to do some baby and wedding shower-related cookies
because I feel like that is something so many cookiers do on a regular basis.
So now you know my general plans for the next few weeks. haha

My life is pretty calm right now.....but next weekend
my son comes home for the first time since Christmas break.
And since it is rare for him to be here.....everyone else will be coming to visit him.
So my big family life will return......at least for a few weeks.
I can hardly wait!
(And I'm sure after the craziness......I'll be ready for my calm life to return. ;))

Instagram photos for this week:

Finished Lemonade-themed extras.....

Mmmmm.....Perfect on this hot summer day. :)

Everyone needs ice cream on Monday mornings.....right?

Anyone have a guess on my cookie theme for the week?

And we're off..... Trees are coming together. :)

Now to the details.....the best part. :)

All finished up......happy camper. :)

Summer Fun: Beach Shoreline Cookies (Tutorial)

You can add a beach shoreline to almost any shaped cookie.

Start off with making the "sandy" beach.
Outline and flood one side of the cookie with tan 10-Second Glaze.

In a bowl or tray with sides, cover the wet tan glaze with demerara cane sugar.
(I bought mine at Walmart for much cheaper than the link's price.)

Gently shake off the excess and allow glaze to dry.

On that same day, make shell glaze-icing-transfers.
On parchment paper, pipe "shell-looking" white glaze shapes.
Allow them to dry overnight.

After the "sandy beach" has dried a few hours,
outline and flood the rest of the cookie with a light blue 10-Second Glaze.
Allow it to dry for about 1 hour.

Outline and flood a portion of the water a darker blue 10-Second Glaze.

Dry the cookies overnight.

On the following day, paint the shells with a mixture of sterling pearl dust and almond extract.
Allow them to dry for a few hours before adding a dab of white glaze to the back of them and
adhering them onto your "sandy beach".

Paint some lighter blue wave lines onto the water.
(I mixed a dab of Americolor royal blue gel with a dab of bright white.)

If desired, pipe some dots of white glaze on to the sand touching the water to form a "foam" edge.
