Emmy's 2nd Birthday Decorated Cookie Collection

Emmy, my granddaughter, turned TWO!

Time is flying…..we notice it most when we watch these wee ones grow crazy fast!

I made gluten free and sugar free cookies for my sweet Emmy-Lou-Who. Despite the changes in the recipe, she loved them!

There’s nothing better than making cookies for the ones you love. Take the time. It is worth it!

Emmy's Flower-y 1st Birthday Cookie Collection

Emmy (my second grandchild and first granddaughter) had her first birthday recently. It was a small gathering of family to celebrate, but we celebrated her in a BIG way. She's a precious sweet doll who manages to make everyone smile.

Her mom wanted a pink flower theme to celebrate her birthday. I pulled out all the stops to make the cookies as flower-y and pink as possible. 💗

I had some new tools to try out in the process, so they were fully incorporated into the design.

Both of my grandchildren haven't had refined sugar yet, so for Emmy's birthday, I modified my sugar cookie recipe and made it gluten and sugar free. The cookies turned out great!

Sadly, I attempted to make a "glaze" that was sugar free......but since sugar is the predominate ingredient (powdered sugar and corn syrup), the substitutes were no match at all. I was hugely disappointed. I ended up decorating the cookies with regular sugary glaze and left some of the cookies plain for the grandbabies. In the end, it worked.

I'm still on a quest to find a way to decorate cookies without the sugar. I'll let you know if I ever conquer that one. 🙃

Happy Birthday my sweet Emmy Lou Who. I love you so much!!!

Jill & Joe's Wedding Cookie Collection

A SECOND wedding for the year...... my oldest daughter, Jill, married Joe in September.

It was a fabulous occasion.
And we had lots and lots of cookies!

Jill & Joe's theme for cookies was quite a bit different than Allison & Jake's.
Rather than the rustic, vintage feel......they went for a more traditional set.

Personalization is the best part of decorating cookies for special events.
I was able to make some of their favorite things per their request.

For the cookie favors placed at the table settings for the reception, there were four different cookies.

First, lace heart cookies to match the navy/fuchsia wedding colors.
(Here is the tutorial for the lace heart cookies when done for Allison's wedding.)

Next, monograph cookies.......simple and appropriate. :)

And finally, the groom and bride heart cookies.

And then I did a set of cookies just for Joe and Jill.

They love coffee. :)

Jill loves penguins.

Joe has planned all his life to own a dachshund and name him Buddy.
Now it is Joe AND Jill's plan to do so in the next couple years. :)

Here is their whole set of personalized cookies in a beautiful BRP box.

Jill & Joe's Wedding Cookie Collection

Family Wedding..... Wedding Cookie Favors a MUST!

The big day has come and gone.
My dear son, Neil, is now married to his lovely bride, Becca.

Right away, I knew I wanted to make cookies for this very special event.
It was one of those love gifts I couldn't resist taking the time for.

Becca insisted that I make simple cookies so it wouldn't stress me.
We decided together that I would make three designs.

Since she was planning to have a winter wonderland with white "snowy" branches,
Becca and I chose a simple cookie with a snowy branch.
Next came the frilly heart.....this was my favorite of the three.

And then I did a monogram "S" cookie.

When we first started talking about wedding cookies back in September,
I expressed an interest in making a 3D wedding cake.
So even though it wasn't "on the list".....I decided to make Neil & Becca a special cookie.

I had a lot of fun with this one. :)

The wedding was beautiful.....but then I guess I'm a bit bias. ;)
(All of these photos are my own personal iPhone photos.)

The family.....with a new lovely daughter. :)

I'm so proud of my boy....

The entire wedding party....

A sweet moment during the wedding...

Of course, I made Neil & Becca pose with some cookies. ;)

My favorite shot of the 3D wedding cake cookie.....all dressed up.

Congratulations to my dear son, Neil, and his bride, Becca!

What a great way to start the new year of 2013.
