Frosty Winter Decorated Cookie Collection

I love winter!
I know that's not a popular preference, but nevertheless, it's mine.
And snowmen top my favorites list.
So every year, I try to do at least one set of cookies featuring snowmen and all things winter.
Now that Christmas is past, I look forward to snowy days snuggled up with some hot chocolate and a good book/movie.
Happy Winter everyone!

Oh how I love winter!

Snowmen have been one of my favorite things for a very long time......
but all the other fun elements of winter really create a cozy set of cookies.

Personal Side

Christmas......you've got to pack as many sights, smells, sounds, and
tastes into each day as you can with the season being so short. :)

We're are in Florida this weekend to celebrate my son's milestone.....college graduation.
In addition, he is being commissioned as an Army officer.
It is pretty exciting and I'm super proud of my boy.

Once we return home......we are in full-on Christmas mode.....but not anything really stressful.
We'll be visiting family, preparing yummy foods, and then BEING together.
That's my favorite part......being together and enjoying each other.
I baked up a bunch of cookies this week hoping to decorate a few Christmas cookies for family.
I also made & froze a bunch of Valentines cookies that I hope to decorate right after Christmas.
(Always prepping ahead.......hee hee)

Savor the moments.........life is short.
Thank you God for each breath.

So now you know the life event coming up in our family next week.

Happy Saturday!

Have a JOY-ful Sunday!

Christmas season calls for lots of regular cookies too.
Mmmmm....

A favorite set from last year.....
Christmas Tree Cookie Platter.

Everyone got new stockings this year.
Since we added two new sons this year.....it was time to get new ones for everyone else too. :)
Now I just need a fireplace mantle to hang them on. haha

Homespun Winter Tree Cookies with Cardinal

Ginny (The Creative Cookier) and I had fun brainstorming ideas
for a different twist on a Christmas tree.

This cute little "Winter Whimsical Tree" cutter set came from a scrap booking idea I saw online.
Piecing together several layers of the evergreen tree and added a fat little cardinal seemed ideal.
And thus, another CookieCrazie cutter set was born. :)

The best part about this set is that you can customize it to your needs.
There are 4 tree-tier cutters and one trunk cutter in all.
The tree can be short, medium, or tall.....according to your preference.

For my first attempt to decorate the tree, I outline and flooded each tier with green.
After it dried about 30 minutes, I added green wavy lines to emulate the branches.

And for a Christmas-y touch, I added some multi-colored sixlets for "tree lights".  :)

The second attempt produced a squat-ty "patchwork quilt" tree.
