Simply Christmas Cookies: Christmas Light Bulb (Tutorial)

To make lightbulb cookies you will need:
Outline and flood the bulb part of the cookie with your color of choice.
If desired, add a "shine line" on the side of the bulb while the glaze is still wet.

Allow the bulb color to dry for at least an hour before adding the gold base (to prevent bleeding).

Outline and flood the bulb base with gold glaze.

Allow to dry for about 1 hour and then using a long narrow tool (I used a cake tester)
make line impressions in the partially crusted glaze.

Allow to dry overnight.
Mix gold luster dust with almond extract and paint onto the gold base of the bulb.

Simply Christmas Cookies: Christmas Presents (Tutorial)

To make Christmas present cookies you will need:
Outline & flood the box part of the present cutter.

Add wet-on-wet details, etc. Allow to dry for an hour or more before adding bow.
Also, I used my handy cake tester to make box lines on the partially dried glaze.

Outline bow and allow outline to dry before flooding. This will give it more dimension.

Once the bows have dried for 30 minutes or more, add the knot of the bow.

Simply Christmas Cookies: Christmas Ornament (Tutorial)

To make Christmas ornament cookies you will need:
Outline and flood the base of the ornament with red, green, or white glaze
(or whatever color you desire).
After it has dried for an hour or so,
outline and flood the hanger base with gold glaze.

After it has dried for 30 minutes, add the hanger portion of the ornament.
Allow to dry for about 1 hour.

Add the vertical lines to the hanger using a long thin tool. (I used a cake tester.)
Allow to dry overnight.

Using gold luster dust mixed with a small amount of almond extract, paint the gold shine onto the hanger.
