Graduation Congrats Decorated Cookie Collection

Oh there is such joy in crossing the finishing line of an education goal and graduating. It is truly time to celebrate and so many cookie ideas to make a reality.

Congratulations to all those who have earned a diploma and stepped up their knowledge game!

2015 Graduation Cookie Collection

It's kind of humorous how we cookie decorators live our lives through cookies.
Graduations, birthdays, weddings, babies, thank-yous, etc.......we find a way to celebrate via cookies.

It's always fun to personalize a set of celebratory cookies for one of my family members.

This time I made a special set of cookies for my son, Keith's, college graduation.

Not only did Keith graduate with a BS degree in Business Administartion,
but he was also commissioned as a US Army officer through the ROTC program.

We had the privilege of attending his commissioning service,
and then attending his graduation the next day.

(I'm sure you can't see it below, but he is actually receiving his diploma on the stage in this photo. Yeah mom! ;))

Congratulations Keith.

We are so proud of you!!!

Graduation Centerpiece Cookie (Tutorial)

To make this graduation centerpiece cookie you will need:

 To cut out the cookie,
start with the scalloped rectangle,
cut out a graduation cap out of it
and replace it with a whole grad cap cookie.
Bake as usual.

Outline and flood the cap and tassel.

As you're completing the rest of the cookie,
you can continue to add details to the cap
and tassel as layers dry.
Outline the rectangle and let it dry for 20-30 minutes.
Fill with flood color.

If you'd like to add "confetti",
add it while the flood is still wet.

I used a KopyKake to center my lettering,
but free handing it is fine too.

Neil's College Graduation Cookie Collection

Cookies to commemorate a proud moment
in my son's life.....
and in our family's life. :)

Just two weeks ago,
my son, Neil, graduated from HLGU.

Needless to say,
we are so very proud of him.
He is our first college graduate.
I wanted to make him extra special cookies for the occasion.
I had too. Neil's mom is CookieCrazie. ;)

This photo says a thousand words. :)
