Happy Valentines Day Decorated Cookie Collection 2017

Oh the love...... spread one cookie at a time.

Valentines Day is the perfect holiday to make cookies for those we love.
And the decorating doesn't have to be complicated.....simple goes a long way.

On this day of expressing love, I wanted to take a moment once again to tell you how much I appreciate your presence on this site.
My ultimate goal is to spread love with cookies.....and you allow me to do that.
Thank you!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

Sweet on You Valentines Decorated Cookie Collection

It's time to pile on the SWEETS and show your special someone how much they are loved.

I love making sweets, so this theme was super fun to plan and execute.
I guess all cookie decorators are in the business of being "sweet on others".

Let's spread the sweetness and share the love!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Textured Colored Dough Valentines Decorated Cookie Collection

For some relatively easy and quick cookies that go over-the-top in texture,
try coloring the dough (knead color gel into the dough until you achieve the desired color)
and then rolling a texture mat over the top of the dough before cutting it out.
(see photo below)

It is truly amazing how intricate these cookies look
and yet how easy it was to achieve the detail.

Check out some of my favorite texture mats HERE.

Happy texturizing with love!

Deer One Valentines Decorated Cookie (Tutorial)

Ah yes......more homonyms for spreading Valentines Day love.

Here are the two cutters used for this set:

Outline and flood the shapes with tan icing
leaving space to add details with white glaze using wet on wet technique.
(see photos below)

Using a darker brown glaze, add the nose and hooves.

Love Ewe Valentines Day Decorated Cookies (Tutorial)

Don't you love how homonyms work perfectly for Valentines Day?

How about making little lamb (ewe) cookies to share love with others?

Using this lamb cutter,  cover most of the surface with white glaze, but leave the face, ears and hooves bare. Fill those areas in with tan glaze after finishing with the white.
(see photo below)

Allow the glaze to dry for a couple of hours, and then imprint tiny hearts all over the white portion. (I used the heart shape in this impression tool set.)

Using a small heart cookie cutter, press it into the bottom/back part of the lamb to create an outline. Fill the outline with red glaze. (The smallest cutter in this set was used here.)

Add some facial features with a black marker if desired.
