Edible Clay Cut-Out Cookies (Tutorial)

See this content in the original post

Textured edible clay

can be used for more than just covering up the entire cookie.

How about cutting out a small shape in the center to show off the base coat of glaze on the cookie?

Start off with

outlining and flooding

the cookies with a base coat of glaze.

(see photos below of previously flooded cookies)

Allow them to dry overnight.

While they are drying, load the edible clay on a texture mat.

To review the process, check out

this previous post on making textured edible clay

.

Once the clay has been texturized,

cut out a piece of it with the same cookie cutter used for the original cookie.

Then using a smaller cutter, cut out a shape in the middle of the clay.

Carefully place the cut-out clay on top of the cookie.

So easy.....and yet it looks so complicated. :)

You can even use the small pieces of cut-out clay to add decor to other cookies.
