Personal Side
I did my final Valentines cookies this week.
They were fun.....but I'm kind of done with red, pink & white.....at least for now. ;)
Next week I'll move on to some other themes.
I've got a list of themes I want to do in the coming weeks.
It is so fun to plan cookies around a theme!!!
In a way, it was a lazier cookie week than usual.
I had baked & froze cookies last week that I decorated this week.
I challenged myself to make simpler designs one day.
Why is that so hard for me?
I literally have to stop myself and say "NO!" when I'm decorating. haha
The weather has been gloomy these last few days.....it has my mood gloomy too.
I don't like it when I let external things influence my mood.
Hopefully I'll pull out of the slump as I start thinking about spring.
There's lots of exciting things coming up in the months ahead.

I challenged myself to only three colors and only wet on wet
decorating.
It was harder than I thought it would be. sigh.....

Today is a pattern-y kind of day. :)

Hi Pam! Have you ever had any problems (especially) when using super red...after a few days dark spots appear on the icing? I know it's from the butter that can seep into the icing but do you know how to prevent that? My cookies are a softer cookie so I don't want to bake them longer. I use a heating gun to seal the glaze & a dehumidifier & fan but I've noticed this still happens. Any ideas? Thank you!
Hi Stacy.....yes, I've had this problem. I use a softer cookie too.....and I also use a heat gun. My personal opinion is that it has to do with colder temperatures....because I don't have near a problem with it in the warmer months. But I have no way of proving it.... I wish I could help. I just grin and bear it. Thanks for writing. :) 3
