It was a very good cookie year. :)

So many things have changed for me in one year.

I'm amazed to go back and look at all the cookies I've done in the last twelve months.....

and see a distinct difference from those of the previous year.

I'm so thankful to God that He allows me to do something I love so much......

to further the work He's purposed for me and others to do in Ukraine.

And I'm grateful that He gives me abilities that I do not possess on my own.

It's actually been TWO weeks since I've done a CCChatter...

Personal Side

Ahhhhh.....Christmas was wonderful. :)
We had a whirlwind weekend.
I worked at the hospital on Saturday morning and then we rushed out of town to visit family in Memphis.
We scurried back quickly EARLY Monday morning so I could get prep work done.
Then visiting extended family for Christmas Eve,
plus having our own little Christmas Eve and Christmas morning traditions here.
And then, suddenly......it was over.
Phew......and I'm so tired. ;)

BUT.....wedding prep kicks into full gear, probably on Friday......so I must rest quickly. heehee

My heart is full.
It is wonderful to reflect on Christmas pasts.....
and then sit in amazement at the memories we just made the last few days.
With our family headed toward a new stage in life.....married children......
I can only wonder how different things will be in the next few years.
So I kept telling my family, I am pondering these things in my heart. :)

Now we face the new year.
Wow......2013.
If I'm never blessed with anything more, I still have much more than I could ever deserve or imagine.
And I'm thankful.

Done with 1/3......icy branches complete. Yeah!

I. am. done. So happy!!!!! Now I can breath freely again. Christmas and wedding....here I come. :)

I just decorated my first wedding cake. Haha....it's a 3D cookie and only 5" tall....but it is still my first. :)

Busy morning wrapping..... but I'm almost done thanks to Allison's help.
Then I'm off to prepare food ahead for Christmas Eve and morning.

Ahhh......wedding cookies ready, Christmas prep complete.....time to make some memories. :)

Simply Winter Cookies: Snowflakes (Tutorial)

To make a snowflake cookie you will need:

• Snowflake-shaped Cookies (cutter here)
• White 10-Second Glaze
• Pearl Sheen Airbrush Color

 Outline and flood the snowflake cookies with white glaze.

Allow to dry for 30 minutes or more.

Add snowflake details as you desire. 

This photo just shows one simple pattern......there are MANY possibilities.

Look at snowflake clipart/pictures and find patterns to emulate.

Once the snowflakes have dried overnight,

brush on some pearl sheen airbrush color (or some pearl luster dust mixed with almond extract)

to give them a gorgeous shine.

Christ is Born! Merry Christmas to All....

As we celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas,
I wanted to make very special cookies to honor the birth of Jesus Christ.
That's really what Christmas is all about.

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)  
And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:1-14
