One Last Hint of Winter......

My one remaining cookie photo from last week. Funny that it would be winter caps and mittens. This morning we have freezing rain and sleet hitting the window. Yikes.....I knew once we got in the spring mode last week.....any cold/wintry precipitation we received was going to be tough.

The good news is that I've started spring cookies. :))))))) Hopefully I'll have pics tomorrow so I can start showing them to you.

Hopefully making spring cookies, looking at spring cookies, and thinking about spring  will bring it back. :)

You really have an eye for the lines on those hats. They are so perfectly curved in all the right places. And beautiful colors as always...

These are absolutely darling! I particularly like the mitten with the snowflake.

While I have loved seeing your gorgeous winter cookies, the spring cookies will be most welcome to these snow weary eyes.

You're cold weather cookies are always my favorite. Hot chocolate mugs and winter hats and mittens are such fun! I know you're ready for Spring, but I just love your Winter cookies!

Hi!
I always follow your news even if with Lorenzo I haven't time do decorate: soon will be his first birthday and I want to create some cookies as party favours and I wonder how long can I make them before the party (just because I have so many things to do and so little time...).
Thanks a lot!

Thanks everyone. You all are so kind. :)

Claudia.....there are two options. You could bake the cookies and freeze them before you decorate them. Cookies can be frozen for weeks with no problem. The only thing is that you'd have the pressure of decorating them right before the party.

I wouldn't recommend freezing decorated cookies.

If you want to decorate them ahead.....I'd say no longer than a week ahead....preferable less than a week. The cookies don't go bad, but after week, they harden up and are just not as fresh. But if making them more than a week ahead helps relieve your stress.... then do it! The main thing is to enjoy the event and celebrating your son. :)
