Happy Valentines Day!!!

I had a very successful week with a couple of orders and then a few surprises. This excites me so much. There had been a lull since Christmas and I was concerned that Cookies With A Mission was going to suffer. Thankfully, last fall I raised enough money to cover the June 2011 Ukraine trip, but there is still the need for approximately $2000 for the "women's camp" we are going to do during those two weeks. Ukrainian women seem to never get a break.....and when we described a women's retreat to them.....they got very excited. I'm thrilled it is finally in the plans for our annual trip! And $2000 is VERY inexpensive, by the way, since that is for FIFTY women to go away for two nights......food included! After Valentines week cookie sales, I'm well on my way toward that goal of covering the women's camp. :)

Valentines Day......it is finally here. For some reason.....it is one of my favorite seasons to make cookies. Those rich reds and pretty pinks are so fun.

It has been such a pleasure making so many cookies for this special season.
The greatest reason for Valentines Day......
"Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God" Ephesians 5:1-2

May you have a delightful day remembering the ones you love. :)

Your cookies are beautiful. Do you have your techniques posted somewhere? Like what size tips you use to do the detail and how you keep them so shiny. My glaze tends to dull as it dries. You do gorgeous work and I love your heart for missions. I did jewelry one year to raise money for my daughter and several other students to go to Mexico.

Pam, I'm so happy to hear how successful your efforts have been this season in raising money for a cause you're so passionate about. At the same time I have to thank you for all the information, tips, and inspiration I've received from you over these past weeks. A couple months ago I got the idea I wanted to try and sell cookies to raise money for people living with ALS and so I began following your blog (as well as Callye's and Bridget's and tried to learn everything I could...primarily through looking at your cookies and attempting to copy them. This Valentine's was my official beginning and as it turned out I ended up with just over 60 orders that brought in nearly 1000 dollars to ALS! (I give the time and ingredients so all the money can be donated). The success of this first go at selling cookies by someone who has so much to learn is in large part due to the inspiration and example you provided here and so I just wanted to say thank you and let you know that what you're doing with cookies and this blog goes beyond your mission to help others with theirs.

And I'll keep coming back here everyday because Easter is coming! :)

God bless, Anita

Thank you everyone! Your comments mean so much to me.

Robin....check out my FAQ. There's lots of details there. If you have questions beyond it, email me.

My glaze dries dull too......it's just that I often take pics right after I decorate and the icing is still shiny.

Anita! I'm so happy to hear of your success for ALS. And your note is so sweet. I'm thrilled that I could be one of the catalysts to help you. I'm blessed beyond measure.....and your note reminds me of that. :)
