Buttons and "Eyelet Lace"

I tried more Valentine buttons and other designs this week.

It is snowing right now......I didn't even know it was supposed to until late last night. I'm off to work this morning and it is snowing like crazy. Oh boy......hopefully I can make there and back with no incidents. Happy weekend to you all.

When I read the title I was hoping this was a "how to"! These are the two things I have wondered how to do! I love them!

Hi Pam,
Do you ever have that air pocket problem when filling in small areas? When I use glaze to fill in something small, it usually ends up with a "popped" hole in that area after it dries. It's been driving me bonkers. It doesn't appear to have a bubble to pop when I am filling it in... so strange...
Anyway, it snowed more here yesterday! We may never go back to school! The kids have been out 4 days already. Craziness!

Thanks everyone.

Trisha....yes.....I have the problem with small areas too. Every cookier does. I've read some speculate that it has too do with surface tension.

The solution......fill it in with as little icing as possible. It works every time. I try to avoid making small areas that I have to fill in.....but if I end with one, I put a tiny amount of icing and use my toothpick or "boo boo tool" to pull to the edges.

We got a surprise snow this morning. I had to be at work (the hospital) at 6 AM. It had snowed for about 2hrs and we already had at least 2". The roads were horrible! Nothing had been plowed. Talk being tense the whole way there. I prayed a lot too. People were driving crazy on the highway (at 5:30 in the morning!). Boy, I was so glad to get there. Then when got off at 2:30 PM....the roads were complete clear. The sun came out and everything warmed up. CRAZY!

I hope you get some relief soon, Trisha.

Thanks, Pam. I keep thinking there's something I'm missing, but I think I just need more practice with it!

Thanks for this nice note. Sometimes I get discouraged about this blogging thing.....so to hear your words really encouraged me to continue to do it. I'm grateful for your response. :)
