Don't be tired of snow and winter yet! I still have my third winter collection to share with you!
I started on Valentines Day cookies last week.....but first I need to show you the rest of my winter cookies. lol
All of these cookies were made by taking various shapes and putting them together. No, I do not have a cutter for any of them. :)
I just wanted to say a word about my wonderful readers. I've kind of gone out on a limb to show others how I do my work........and I don't profit from it. In fact, I guess it could take away from the orders I receive for Cookies With a Mission. But my goal is to give to others as I've been given. SO MANY people have helped me over the years......to not only decorate cookies.....but to become the woman I am. My desire is to give back by helping others in the same fashion.
Believe me.....I'm not giving away all my secrets! I'm just sharing the basics.....which apparently lots and lots of people are craving this information.
At first, I hesitated......"Why should I show others what I've had to work hard to find out?" But then I remember that there have been all kinds of very generous people along the way that have answered my questions, had an awesome blog post, or even made videos to show me what I know. And God's Word says to give unto others as you would have them give unto you.
So that's why I share......I want others to have access to information from others that don't have to give.....but choose to be generous.
And I'm so grateful for those of you who have realized that I don't have to share anything with you. I could just keep putting pretty photos on this blog and leave it at that. Several of you have taken the time to thank me......and that thrills my heart. Not because I want recognition or to be lifted up. But because it shows that there are still people that have grateful hearts and don't expect others to give them everything. It blesses me to know that people recognize a sacrifice and take the time to acknowledge it and be thankful for it.
Makes me smile................... :)

I have been admiring your work for a year now and I have always hoped you would give some details on how you do things; didn't want to bother you with additional questions! So I am very happy you have decided to give little tutorials about your process. You have inspired me to learn the basics of cookie decorating this year. I did my first batch 2 weeks ago and am loving it so far! Thank you for sharing! You are so gifted and a treasure to learn from.
This is my favorite post you've written yet because it is so indicative of what I've always thought/assumed about you...a gracious and generous heart.
You absolutely do not have to share any of these tips and tricks (though I'm sure loving reading them!) but you do.
I used to read a blog (which shall be unnamed) and the woman wrote this total rant one time about people asking her questions. She went on to say that she had worked for years to figure it out on her own, it's her livelihood, etc. Though everything she said was true, it was such a turn off.
Many of us, including myself, will never be able to do any of this anyway. I just like to read them and pretend that some day I'll be able to do it. Ha!
You've summed up why we do what we do and blog about it beautifully.
I'm looking forward to your coming posts where you describe how you are able to get royal icing details out of glaze icing. I've been decorating cookies for almost a year now, and I've been trying lots of different techniques to see what works best for me, so it's always great to find out what works best for others. I totally understand what you're saying though. At my son's preschool program, they asked me to teach everyone how to make my cookies, but if I did that, why would they order from me anymore? So I'm just bringing a bunch of glaze icing in squeeze bottles and I'm going to show them how to do marbling and simple things like that with a toothpick.
Thanks again for sharing what works for you!
Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us all. I just recently found your blog and spent hours looking at it. I have wanted to do cookies for a long time now, but don't like royal icing. Thanks to you and your blog, I now have an option that looks and tastes great. Bless you for sharing your talent.
I appreciate your sharing your techniques with us. I too do not like royal icing and I love your glaze icing. I have yet to be able to do the detail work with the glaze so I am looking forward to the tutorials on your icing.
I love what you are doing for the Ukraine mission. My husband goes every year to the Ukraine so I think this is a wonderful thing and unique way to reach others with the gospel.
Count me in as someone who is relying on the kindness of strangers to help me master the skill of creating beautiful cookies such as yours. My thanks for your generosity in sharing!
BTW, have you gotten your box samples yet? If so, are you pleased with them?
Pam, you are very generous. I'm a newbie in every sense of the word when it comes to cookies! I just want to be able to make cookies for and with my 2 youngest kids (14,12) for all our parties that we have. I have spent a small fortune over the years ordering cookies and cakes for 4 kids, class parties, etc. Now, that I'm not working in my husband's office 70+ hrs week as slave labor, I want to delve into some fun creative oultets. I love your blog and Sweetopia's. I'm going to play with icings and figured out which one I like. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Hugs,
Carrie
I'm so impressed that you make your own shapes and use templates. The details on your cookies are always amazing too. I've been making cookies a few times a year for a couple of years now and am nowhere near as talented as you. I am also not nearly so patient. My cookies are usually pretty simple with only two or three colors and not so much detail. You give me something to aspire to :)
Pam, as we have emailed back and forth you know how I admire your work. Your posts of late with how tos and instructions are great. I can make cookies and decorate them in part because you "SHARE". I love all of your work and where your money goes from your work.... My husband knows you by name I've talked about you so much! Keep up the good work! Lisa from DOTHAN, ALABAMA
WOW! You've mastered making COOKIES out of various cutters! Love the new shapes and designs...
Thank you so much for all that you share, whenever I think of you and your sweet smile, I see a generous woman full of God's love... love you!
I have been admiring your work for a year now and I love how you would give some details on how you do things. I didn't want to bother you with any additional questions! So I am very happy you have decided to give little pictorials about your process.
I love when I hear the ding on my phone alerting me that you have posted something new to you blog.
God Bless you and thanks for sharing.
Adrienne

Oh, and I am trying your sugar cookie recipe out for the first time this evening--I am so excited!! Thank you for sharing it :)
Very well said Pam and I want you to know that i appreciate everything your doing. From the first day i met ya you never let me down. YOu were always there to pull me along telling me i can do it.

OHHH - I LOVE the snow shovel. I've never really been someone who loves snow shovels. But that one is so perfect!
Thank you all for your very sweet comments. It is my pleasure to share with you....and I'm so glad that it makes a difference. :)
I always know I can leave a question in the "comments" section in the post and it will get answered very quickly and kindly. And I always always appreciate it. You inspire me not just with your ideas and generosity but also your tenacity! I love making cookies but could never do it the way you do.
Your work and creativity are incredible. Thank you for sharing your talents. The time you devote to this blog is unbelievable . . . but greatly appreciated by those of us who are still trying to figure out how to make cookies look like something other than "just a cookie." God Bless!
Yes, please please share. Those of us much less talented who love every picture of your beautiful beautiful cookies need all the help we can get! And by the way, Thank You!
Oh, let me join the chorus. I've only been following you for a month and I've already gained so much from your generosity Pam. Your chocolate cookies with the "black" cocoa are top on my list of favorites to make and your corn syrup glaze got me over the discouragement I was feeling from dealing with royal icing. Your creativity that takes you beyond cookie cutters has inspired me to think "outside the box" in my own cookie designs and your example of using your talent for Christian service was inspirational in confirming that we can use any gift or talent for a greater purpose. With all that I offer a sincere thank you. Thank you Pam.
I absolutely love your work. I find it amazing that you find the time, and still have the love for the art of cookie decorating. I have been watching your cookies for quite some time now and just want to say thank you for sharing them with me- I am sorry I waited until this post to say what I have been thinking all along. God Bless!
I'm always grateful for what cookiers like you have shared to aspiring beginners like me. :) May you be greatly blessed and rewarded for your generosity. =)
Pam I love this post. You truly have a beautiful heart. God has blessed you :)
I wanted to thank you for sharing all that you do. I often feel the same way about giving out my "secrets". I've been doing cookies for 5 years and it took me a long time researching different methods (not to mention all the different cookie recipes I've made! lol!) and LOTS of trial and error to get where I am. I feel like it's part of the journey and others should have that same journey to find out what works for them. But I do share certain things that have made my cookie life easier and I am thankful that others (like you!) do too. I get so inspired to try new things every time I visit your blog. You are appreciated!

Pam, OMG you are one of my biggest ispirations not only did I come to your blog for info but it has been a comfort to me in my time of recovery. You have not only taught me how to be and try to better at what I do but to bea better person too. So You and your blog are a gift to all of us. If you dont hear it enough from me than thank you thank you thank you thank you. I know I sometimes write long posts or ask alot of questions but I never ever forget that this blog is a gift and what it has and what you have done for me. You may not know it but with out it it would have been very difficult to make it through the last 18-2 yrs. You have been part of my therapy in a time wher i didnt know where to turn for distraction because none of my friends at my age knew what to say or do. Im am young for being diagnosed with bc. so instead of running to me they ran away. Most of them. Not because I complained. in fact that could be farther from the truth. I guess they didnt understand how I could not be so upset about the choice imade to do what idid. It wasnt reccomended nor required to do the double I just chose that for me. not only have you been and your blog ben the best therapist ,maybe Ididnt pay you but boy oh boy I think I have enough cookie stuff to have paida therapist for the past 18 months now. YOU area big heart!!!! So you are a true blessing to all of of your readers and if they dont say it enough Iwill remind you always what a blessing you are to me and to all that come here. Have a Blessed Day. Stacey M.
