Flowers, Bugs, and Babies :)

I had two orders to fill so far this week......they seemed pretty easy after the whole Mothers Day marathon. ;)

One set is for a "bug party"......flowers and bugs. Fun!

I had fun making these pretties....I studies pictures of Monarch butterflies. God really is good at the whole creation thing, you know?!

And then I made some cookies for a boy baby shower. It seems it has been a boy the last several times I've done baby cookies. Hopefully it will be a girl sometime soon so that I can add all the frilly pink stuff. :) (Oh.....and I do NOT recommend the plastic teddy bear cutter from Hobby Lobby. It has tiny ears and the body is shaped funny. I had to improvise to make it look like a bear. The first one I did looked like a cat! I got to eat that one. lol)

I think this is my favorite set of onesies to date....

All the baby cookies together.

I'm so excited. I have about a dozen cookies to do on Friday.....and that is IT for the rest of the week. Yeah! I'm so excited to have some time to do other things......but I must admit that even though I was kind of burned out last week.....it was super fun doing these latest cookies. =)

You asked about input concerning your new blog design so I thought that I would give you my opinion albeit a non-professional one. The bottom line is that I miss your old site. When I ask myself why, these first few thoughts come to mind: 1. This one takes an especially long time to load. 2. The font and graphics used are a bit large. I am more of a "love at first site on the web" kind of person and the text seems to overshadow your work a bit. 3. I have to hit page down 29 times to get to the blog history. When I first visited (and became an enthusiast) I loved reading Cookie Crazie from the very beginning. Now, you wouldn't know that it was available unless you had a lot of time to spend investigating. All that being said you are without question the most talented cookie decorator on the planet and I will continue to following your efforts even if I have to wait till the weekends when I have more time.

I appreciate your honesty, Katy.....although I must admit it stings a bit.

I agree that the site takes too long to load. I regret that part.

The font size....that was my choice, and I wouldn't change it just because I'm getting older and need things a bit bigger in order to see them more easily. lol The pictures haven't changed size, so even though the header fonts are bigger, nothing else has changed.

I haven't finished rearranging things yet.....still not enough time to sit here and move FAQ, links, etc.....but when I do, the blog history will be much closer to the top. Hopefully that will allow newbies to find it more easily.

I am not totally sold on the change myself because I have trouble with change more and more.....but I do love the new look and hope to make it "mine" in the coming days.

Thanks for your input.

And you are WAY TOO kind to say I'm "the most talented cookie decorator on the planet". I could direct you to some extremely talented cookiers that make me feel like an amateur (but maybe I should not lead you their way so you'll keep thinking good thoughts about me.) ;)

I have looked at tons and tons of other peoples cookie creations and I have to say I think your are by far the very best I've seen. It is tough to do such detail using the corn syrup icing and yours looks great

Thank you so much everyone!

Mellie12....what a nice thing to say. You are too kind.

Corn syrup glaze IS hard to work with, but I've found that you can almost do as much detail as you can with RI. And it's worth it to make them the best tasting cookies. :)

Please accept my apologies for making comments that "stung" in any way. Truly, I was trying to be constructive only because I appreciate open and honest feedback re. my creative projects and yours is a site that I value very much!

Today is the first time that I have visited since my last post, and I am happy to report that the loading took *far* less time! Also, I see the blog history at the top. :) So noted with the font and I should have said also that the overall design is a great representation of your aesthetic. You have obviously spent hours and hours working and re-working!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply and for your incredible attention to detail; I am a huge fan.

With appreciation and admiration--

Awww Katy, you are a sweetheart!

I DO appreciate your honesty and I'm glad you told me how you really feel. It gave me a chance to try to correct those things that you valued.

I almost laughed when I read your "attention to detail" comment because yesterday is when I worked and re-worked the blog to get it the way I wanted it, and I'm not kidding you, I probably changed things 20-30 times until I got everything the way I wanted it! lol So yes......I spent a lot of time making it "mine". And now I've very happy with it.

I appreciate your friendship Katy. Real friends are honest and upfront and don't hide what they really think.

It is my pleasure to share all of this with you. It is so fun to decorated cookies......but I double my pleasure when I can share it with others to inspire and delight them. :)

Blessings!

Love the baby set. Your teddy bear/cat made me think about my hubby. He came through last night as I was making snails for an order this weekend, he stopped looked and said "You could make whales out of that, just snip off his little tail, then make the whales tail out of the snails head". Tried it and he was right...look at your cutter and see if you can see it!!
