Cookie Challenge Entry & I reached my Cookies With A Mission goal!!!!!!

As's my entry into the Sweet Treats Cookie Challenge. I love this little clown. :-)

The competition was pretty fierce......very elaborate cookies done, so I didn't have a chance. But that's OK. I had fun and have a great memories from doing these cookies and that's what counts. ;-)

Here's the whole circus set together....

My husband took these to work to sell....and called me that day and said someone wanted to know the nutritional value of my cookies. I told him that if they were concerned, they didn't really want to eat them! lol He looked up the cookie and icing recipes on and calculated that these very large cookies 4-5" across were about 500-600 calories. I told him I DIDN'T want to know that, and I DIDN'T want my customers to know that. ;-)

GOOD NEWS! I reached the $2000 goal with my cookies today. I am so excited to watch how God is providing for my two trips to the Ukraine this year. :-))))))) I plan to give a bunch of that money to the ministries we'll be doing for the Ukranians while there, and that makes my hearts my heart sing. What a pleasure to work so hard to bring joy and love to all of them.

I probably won't have much to post here before I leave for the Ukraine. I only have two more decorating events planned......this week to make a bunch of patriotic cookies for the Fourth of July and then next week.....I'm going to make some simple small cookies to take to the Ukranians as gifts on my trip. :-) I'll at least try to post before I leave.

If you want to keep up with me and my trip, check out my Ukraine blog.

TOO MANY COOKIES (gasp......)

It's been a LONG week. I started the week with my biggest order ever....72 graduation cookies. Next, I made about 50 cookies for a BBQ/bake sale fundraiser we had for the Ukraine mission effort today. And finally, I had a big order of patriotic cookies and birthday cookies. I've stayed up WAY late two nights this week. And honestly, I'm a little tired of doing cookies right now. I didn't think I'd say that......but like I said, it was a LOOOOONNNNGGGG week. lol

I started off the week pretty disappointed. I was so excited about my circus cookie entry into the Sweet Treats cookie challenge. This was my first contest and I came up with the idea in just a day's time and put it together. I thought it was pretty cute. It is obvious the Sweet Treats cookie decorators are WAY out of my league. They did such elaborate cookies (I'm not sure I'd ever do such an elaborate cookie) that I didn't have a chance. I'll show you my cookie in the next few days......but as far the contest, I think I came in close to last. :-((((((((( Needless to say, I won't be doing that again. Too discouraging.

I don't have much to show you tonight. I have a few pics of the graduation cookies I did.....and then the patriotic cookies. Everything else I did this week was a repeat design. I didn't want to bore you with pics of things you'd already seen, so I didn't bother to take pics.

Here's the "cougar" paw prints for the grad's football team.

Here's the logo for the college he will attend. This was my first time doing a logo......a little scary, but it turned out OK.

Three boxes full of 70 cookies!

Patriotic cookies galore. I was seeing stars and stripes in my sleep! ;-)

This next week I'm only decorating cookies one time instead of three like last week. I leave for the Ukraine in just 13 days and there is so much to do!!!!!!

Thanks Dad!

I've got lots to show you for Father's Day. I had a marathon cookie decorating day yesterday. ;-)

Baseball caps for a birthday, but it could be for Father's Day too....

Footballs version 2....

Tools.....I've done these before, but this time I didn't do the wood included the new wrench I got from Karen's cookies. :-)

BBQ grills again. I got this idea from KneadACookie.

More cameras......thought these might be a hit for Father's Day since they were such a hit on Flickr and my blog.

Trucks.....saw a graphic and thought I'd try it....

Ties for Dad....

Polo shirts for Dad.....

Lawnmowers version 2......I like these lots better.

Golf? Basketball? Baseball? Which one would you like, Dad???

These new version of my Dad cookie turned out better. My favorite is the fishing pole. (Thanks for the idea, Cathy B!)

Here's all of them together....

I'm a little sad....because I wasn't able to make very many cookies to sell for Father's Day. There just wasn't enough time, and I had birthday cookies thrown in at the last minute. I've only got about 10-15 cookies to sell when it is all said and done. Oh least I was able to make some, right?

Happy Father's Day to all the DADs out there. :-))))

Dad Cookies and More

As I told you.....Jill (my 22 yo daughter) and I decorated sugar cookies yesterday. Here's Jill's two cookies that she decorated. She is a beginner.....but coming along quite quickly. I love her hippo and turtle. :-))))

I'm posting this pic.....just to keep me humble. These lawnmowers threw me for a loop. I think I got a little cocky and thought I could do ANY kind of cookie I wanted. Well here's proof that I don't accomplish my goal every time I try a new cookie. Boy.....these were tough ones. All I had was a regular photo of a lawn mower. I didn't do so good. But it was an OK first attempt and I'll hopefully be improving on this one soon. ....

My first footballs......nice and easy. :-)

I have plans to do this DAD cookie in a variety of ways later this week. This is for a friend that requested fishing poles. :-)

Here's some close ups of the fishing poles with fish on the end of the line. :-)

I'll be doing more on hopefully I'll be back later this week.

Wow....Photo on Flickr's Explore Front Page!

Big news! This morning I woke up to a huge boost on my Flickr views after I posted my camera pics. Apparently they are a big hit. Flickr's Explore......a random selection of the "interesting" photos on Flickr put my camera pic on their FRONT PAGE. A dear lady on Flickr took a screen shot of it for me. It is here. Of was only for a short time (until they changed it to their next front page pick) but for just a short amount of picture gained fame. :-)))))))) So my camera pic has been viewed over 470 times! Amazing.....

I thought you might want to hear my exciting cookie event of the day. :-)

Lemonade with that Photo Shoot?

Ok, ok.....I know I ended up with a strange combination for my last two pics of last week's cookies, but here they are.

These lemonade glasses are certainly not my best effort.....but they will do for now.

My sister ordered these for her husband ( my bro-in-law) for Father's Day. He is a professional photographer, so I tried to make his Nikon D300. Since I won't do copyrighted stuff, I wouldn't put the name on the top....I just put a squiggly white line. Seemed like an OK compromise. My family was itching to eat one of these because they are so thick.....and CHOCOLATE. But I sold my extra one yesterday, and a dozen of these are going in the mail to my sister today. Maybe next time. ;-) that's all the pics I have from last week. My daughter is home from Nashville (she just returned from a two month mission trip to Brazil) for the week....yippee!.....and she is anxious to do sugar cookies with me today. She hasn't seen all my new techniques and tools in this last year's massive improvement in how I do them, so she is anxious to learn. I have three orders of cookies, but most are things I've done before. however, I do have three new cookies I'm trying we shall see if they are something I can share with you tomorrow or the next day. ;-)

Happy Monday to all.

Snowcones & Sand Pails......sounds like SUMMER to me!

I promised you here they are. :-)

Inspiration for the sandpails from PaintingGrams on CakeCentral

I've been wanting to do some I just did a search of them and went at it. These are my daughter's favorites. She loves how I put the edible glitter on the rainbow part. :-)

Have a great rest of the weekend. I'll be back tomorrow.......

Cute Crabs???

Here's my last post for today.

Along with shells, starfish, and sand've got to have some cute crabs crawling around. OK.....I know....crabs are NOT cute. Well MINE are, with those bulging eyes and big red body. :-))))))

I plan to post a couple of pics each day......I've got 6 different things left to post. :-)))))))

Happy weekend to all.

Going to the Ocean.....

I've seen lots and lots of cool nautical cookies these last few weeks. I've been itchin' to do some myself. In my free cutters from Karen, I ordered a shell, starfish, lighthouse, sailboat, and crab. Guess what you're going to be seeing in the next few days. hee hee

My inspiration for the starfish and sand dollars comes from one of my favorite cookie decorators, Cookieartisan (Maryann)......

And the shells were inspired by my sweet friend, Callye, SweetSugarBelle......

More com'n up. :-))))))

PINK Baby Shower :-)

Well as you can see, I'm still making baby cookies. This time it was for a baby girl. How fun......last week I did a boy shower and a "mixed" shower.....this week a girl shower. So we've covered all the bases now. :-)

Pink pacifiers......not sure if I like how the paler pink came out, but it is what it is.....

Pink Bibs:

Pink Rattles...... inspiration came from Polka-Dot Zebra....

Pink Socks.....inspiration from suess-und-salzig ,,,,

And here is all of the cookies together. This was such a fun collection to do. :-) Can you tell I love pink?

Lots more photos to come. Stay tuned.

One cookie pic......I know, it's a record for me to only have one! To think sometimes I have TEN plus pics to share with you at a time is a little embarrassing. :o)

I'm learning to spread out the pics just because I can't decorate all the time (even though I'd like to!). We've got lots going on this week I'm only decorating once. Trust me, it is hard to restrain myself. lol

Here's my colorful kites. I sold these in a flash the other I'll have to try this again with different designs. :-)

I hope your Monday is not as dreary as ours. We are supposed to have strong thunderstorms today. It's pretty dark outside right now. I look forward to the sunny days coming up. But I know we need the rain. Thank you God for the rain. :-)

It's all in the delivery?

Just a short post to show you how I presented the baby shower cookies. I found some great cookie boxes at Country Kitchen SweetArt. Check them out here.

Here's the baby boy shower cookies in one box.....

And the "don't know if it's a boy or a girl" cookies in a deeper box. lol

I love coordinating the tissue with the cookie colors. :-)

I have one more summer cookie to show you.....maybe tomorrow. I'm spreading the new pics out because I won't be baking/decorating again until Thursday.

This week I've GOT to clean house (our basement is getting finished and the carpet finally got put in last I can FINALLY clean the wood floors after the whole dry wall mess, etc), prepare the women's conference materials I'll need for the Ukraine trip next month, and do some clothes shopping for that trip too. I need to find some long dresses since we need to wear them for church services and for our women's ministry events. Friends tell me that long dresses in style right now, so hopefully this won't be too tough.

Have a great week everyone!
