I'm already in Cookie Withdrawal.......

Hi cookie friends.....it has been way too long since I wrote a post here.

My Ukraine trip was fabulous! There's way to much to share here in one short blog post, so if you want to hear more, you can drop by my crazie commitment blog to read about it.

I've been home from the Ukraine for two weeks, but been very busy getting things done around here before my foot surgery. Thus.....I didn't get to bake and decorate any cookies as I'd hoped. :-( Sad day.

A little history on me and my fam......we've spent the last year finishing our basement in our new house, and it was finally completed while I was in the Ukraine. My family surprised me with it when I got home. :-) Happy girl......

So for the last two weeks, I've been unpacking our garage that was filled with all our basement stuff, and getting everything in order all through the house. And then I did some deep cleaning. Yeehaw! It was awesome. My house is probably cleaner now than it has ever been. It will put my mind at rest while I have my surgery and recover....that my house is in tip top shape. Of course, I'm sure it will also make me a bit irritated when everyone messes it all up while I'm laying in bed. lol

I hope to collect ideas for cookie designs while I am recovering.....getting ready for the fall and all the cookies I will make. Can't wait!!!

I'll keep you posted (ha ha) on how surgery and recovery goes. Thanks for being here.

Welcome home! I've been checking into your blog periodically to see if you were back. So glad to hear that your trip was wonderful and your family is very special to have your "surprise" ready when you got home. Hope all goes well with your surgery. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks jlj914. How sweet that you've been checking my blog to see if I returned safely. :-)
Thanks so much for your prayers. Today I'm a little more anxious than I had been before, so a prayer for peace would be much appreciated.
I'll post when I can. I've got a few Ukrainian cookie pics to show all of you....I thought I'd save them for posting while I'm recovering. :-)

Welcome home! Good luck with the foot surgery. What type of surgery are you having?

Thanks Sweet-tooth-fairy and Kris. I appreciate those prayers.

Kris....I had three major things done. I had my big toe's bones fused together with a plate and two pins. Then I had an internal pin take out of my fourth toe (it had given me nothing but problems since I had it put in nearly 2 years ago) and I had bone that had built up in my Achilles tendon removed and a ligament from the bottom of my foot bundled to my Achilles to strengthen it.

You're probably sorry you asked that question, right? ;-)

Thanks for thinking of me.....

I am just tickled you are home! I was afraid that you would say that you baked so many cookies prior to your trip that you were cookied out! I am so happy that the wheels are spinning! I have missed your pics so much. Things just arent the same without you. Glad the house is together, it's a real peaceful feeling for the house to be in order!
I am headed on a vacation tommorrow, so I won;t be on as much, but I will be near. Once again, so glad ur home!

Thanks so much for your kind comments and thoughts. My surgery was August 11.....so it has been a while. I've been decorating cookies quite a bit since then. :-)

Interesting that you would wish me a Get Well Soon. I've been struggling a lot with the Achilles tendon part of my surgery. It is not healing right, so I'm having an MRI done on Monday to see what is going on. Your well wishes came at just the right time. Thank you!
