FAQ Posted

As I continue to lay here in bed waiting for my foot/ankle to heal, I thought I'd add FAQ to the right side bar of this blog. So many people ask me the same questions......so it seemed like it might save me some time if I could just refer them there. Check it out. :-)

I was very disappointed this week when at my first post-op doctor visit I learned that, yes, I'm now allowed to walk on my heel for the next five weeks (and not put any weight on the main part of my foot because of the bone fusion).......BUT.....it probably will be too uncomfortable to do so since I had major work done on my Achilles tendon too. Sure enough, just trying to get my foot to push down into the boot has been a chore. And it doesn't seem like it will be any time soon that I'll be able to put my body's weight on my heel. :-( I was hoping for a little normality after the first visit.....but it looks like it could be a while before I can walk at all. Sad day.

Oh well, at least I'm making the most of it. I'm trying to improve my blog and keep myself as active as I'm allowed.

Thanks for hangin' with me.

Hang in there. My mom is 8.5 weeks into it, and she is going stir crazy, but just now able to put some weight on her broken leg. I hope you heal quickly! I miss your cookie creations!

Hi Kris. Your poor mom. I can't imagine doing this for 2 months! Bless here heart.

Thanks for the well wishes. I hope I heal quick too.

I would LOVE to be able to decorate cookies. It has been almost 7 weeks since I've done it.

If I could be at my regular computer.....I could be making plans with all my cookie pics and stuff there. But hopefully I'll be able to get up a little and sit at my PC soon.

Thanks for thinking of me. :-)

Hey Callye & PatinTenn. It is so nice to hear from both of you. Thanks for thinking of me. It's been a LONG 3 and 1/2 weeks. I was in bed until just this last Sunday. Wow....I did not expect that. My doctor had originally said I could walk on my heel at 10 days. Well having work on the Achilles tendon too sure did change all of that. I had no clue how painful it was going to be to get my ankle working well enough to first of all.....get it all the way into the boot.....and then to be able to put all my weight on it. Excruciating. But I worked through it and was finally able to start walking. What a blessing. I told me family if I hadn't been able to get any sooner, I might gone out of my mind. lol

Things are much better now. I got my stitches out Wednesday and things are looking up. I'm so grateful. I can get around fairly well and am trying to do a little more each day. It was amazing how week I got. I'd just walk across the house and be totally winded. :-(

I hope to start baking soon and look forward to getting back to normal.

Again, thanks for thinking of me. :-)))))
