TOO MANY COOKIES (gasp......)

It's been a LONG week. I started the week with my biggest order ever....72 graduation cookies. Next, I made about 50 cookies for a BBQ/bake sale fundraiser we had for the Ukraine mission effort today. And finally, I had a big order of patriotic cookies and birthday cookies. I've stayed up WAY late two nights this week. And honestly, I'm a little tired of doing cookies right now. I didn't think I'd say that......but like I said, it was a LOOOOONNNNGGGG week. lol

I started off the week pretty disappointed. I was so excited about my circus cookie entry into the Sweet Treats cookie challenge. This was my first contest and I came up with the idea in just a day's time and put it together. I thought it was pretty cute. It is obvious the Sweet Treats cookie decorators are WAY out of my league. They did such elaborate cookies (I'm not sure I'd ever do such an elaborate cookie) that I didn't have a chance. I'll show you my cookie in the next few days......but as far the contest, I think I came in close to last. :-((((((((( Needless to say, I won't be doing that again. Too discouraging.

I don't have much to show you tonight. I have a few pics of the graduation cookies I did.....and then the patriotic cookies. Everything else I did this week was a repeat design. I didn't want to bore you with pics of things you'd already seen, so I didn't bother to take pics.

Here's the "cougar" paw prints for the grad's football team.

Here's the logo for the college he will attend. This was my first time doing a logo......a little scary, but it turned out OK.

Three boxes full of 70 cookies!

Patriotic cookies galore. I was seeing stars and stripes in my sleep! ;-)

This next week I'm only decorating cookies one time instead of three like last week. I leave for the Ukraine in just 13 days and there is so much to do!!!!!!

Congratulations, Pam! And I'm so glad you are leaving for Ukrania in 13 days :)
About the COOKIE Challenge, I think you are a great decorator and you will win it someday... your work is amazing!

You are a winner in my book. Lovely cookies. I feel your pain though. I did 400 one time for an open house at a gift shop. Talk about hand cramps. That pretty well burned me out for a while. Have a good trip.

Bea.....thanks so much. You are one of my biggest encouragements....always writing me a sweet note right after I post a blog entry. Thanks for that.

The cookie challenge threw me for a loop. I guess I needed to be humbled. I had no idea that people would spend hours and hours on one cookie, but I should have figured. Lesson learned. I'm really not in to giving unreasonable time to decorating one cookie so that everyone will ooh and ahh.....ya know?

Marilyn, thanks so much for your kindness. Four hundred cookies, oh my. I can't imagine doing that many in one spurt. Just the few I did burned me out a little. Blessings to you.

I love the stars and stripes cookies! I never thought to do that with my star cutter! I'll be using that idea for sure! Great job!

Pam,
Needless to say YOU have WOWED us again! We KNOW you have great talent and I'm sure I speak for everyone; we appreciate you sharing your talent with us. When you best yourself that is the only challenge that should matter. I enjoy looking at all of your creations and you are TOPS!

If I should not post again prior to your Ukraine trip, it is my prayer that you have traveling grace and arriving mercy. May your efforts manifest themselves in the lives of those you seek to serve.

I'll start bracing myself now for your hiatus from posting. Looking foward to your return.

God Bless~

SweetSpirit.....You brought tears to my eyes. How kind of you to say these things. I appreciate it so much.

I was kind of down the other day and I guess I let it leak out onto my blog. The whole competition thing is a weird place. I was so excited to "compete" with the best of Flickr cookie decorators..... but in the end, it hurt to know that I couldn't even touch those who obviously have a lot more time on their hands than I do. I've learned that I don't need to enter any more contests because I know that God has given me a gift and the purpose is to bless others and gain support for this mission effort. My heart is uplifted just knowing that. Your note lifted it a bit higher. Thanks so much!

Also, thanks so much for your prayers. :-)

And as for the hiatus from posting.....you can check out my other blog http://craziecommitment.blogspot.com/ to get updates on my trip to the Ukraine. I just got a net book to take with me, so I'll be able to post as often as time will allow. :-))))))

Blessings to you, sweet friend.

I always follow your progress and it's nice to see you reached your goal: I have to say I had my firs ccookies order for a hen party: the subject was a little naughty so I didn't post it anywhere but I'm proud of the result and I had so many compliments!

Congratulations on your first cookie order! I'm glad it went well. :-)
