Funny Combinations.....

OK.....so I did another funny combination of cookies yesterday.

First, I wanted you to see my latest bees....this time with antennas. (I can't believe I forgot them last time!) Can you hear the buzzing sound? :-)

More butterflies.....a little different colored one. It is fun to make them all a little different. :-)

My sister asked me to make two bouquets for her to give to some guys that have helped her fix up her house. Here's my version of work tools that I'm putting in the "Thank You" bouquets. I really had fun with these.

I love the lines in the screw driver handle.....they make them look almost real.

"Wooden" handled hammers.....hee hee.
Pliers....
The whole group of them with the thank you tag.

So we go from home repair tools to formal dresses and wedding stuff. Silly, huh? I've been wanting to try out wedding stuff for a long time, but never had the occasion to do it.....so here we go.
Here's cookies from my terrific formal dress cutter from ecrandal originals.
My daughter, Allison, said she loves the line running down the side of the blue one.

Here's some "tuxedoes". I'm gonna have to work on these.....they were much harder than I thought they'd be. I hid my really bad one in the back so you can't see how terrible it looks. ;-)
And here's my version of the bride dresses. Fun, fun, fun.

Today I received my shipment from CountryKitchenSweetArt, so I'll get to try some new cutters and the Americolor "electric" color gels tomorrow. I can hardly wait!!!!

Very cute! I especially love the tools. And the dresses. And the wedding cookies are neat...who ever thought to make them out of hearts?...very clever!

wonderful as usual.
I have a question (or better say: another question :) ): when you glaze cookies like bees or butterflies do you spread colors at first then (once dried I suppose) the black surrounders or you start with surrounders to give a defined form then "fill" the parts?
thank a lot, I'm learning so much from your blog!

Thanks Lauren. I smiled at your response because you listed just about everything new that I made the other day. :-) I've seen the heart wedding cookies in a mulitude of varieties.....that certainly was not my idea. I love how people take the simple and generic cookie cutters and create such cool things with them.

Thanks Claudia.
In answer to your questions, I outline the cookie with black using a #2 round tip and then after it has dried, I flood the insides with color using a #4 round.
I'm thrilled your learning so much. :-))))))

All great cookies! I look forward to each new post/batch of cookies that you make.

My favorite antennae version is the straighter one on the bottom left.

Love your dresses! So princessey. (If that's a word -- ). I just clicked on ecrandal and noticed the new princess hat. I want that one!

Hi Claudia,

What I mean by "#2 round tip" is using a Wilton decorating tip that is labeled #2....a plain round tip to decorate with. You can see all the Wilton round tips here:

I buy Americolor gel drops for coloring online: Check them out here:

Happy Baking. :-)
