Electric Everything!

I'm back with a very "electric" post.

I got my hands on Americolor's electric colors (electric purple, electric pink, electric orange, electric blue, electric green [my favorite at the moment], and electric yellow). Oh boy did I have fun. By now you must know how much I love lots of color. ;-)

First I thought you might want to see the tool bouquets put together. My sister was very happy with them.....and that made me happy.

My daughter, Allison, talked me into letting her have the extra "thank you" tag cookie since she is so deprived and never gets cookies anymore.......then my son, Keith, said very pitifully last night......"Are we ever going to get a bunch of your cookies at one time like we use to?" Those poor hungry, sweet-deprived teenagers. Ha ha......

Here's my bumble bees bagged up with cute yellow and black ribbons. :-)

Then I had to make some birthday cuppies for someone....so I used the ELECTRIC colors. Fun, fun. I loved how the colors matched many of the confetti stars I added to the top of the cuppies. :-)))))

Electric small flowers......

Electric daisies......

How about electric butterflies??.....here are my newest small and medium butterfly cutters.
I put the electric green on my 'pillars.....did I mention that I LOVE this green?

Then I got this cool idea from SweetSugarBelles (Callye). She used a ladybug, so I changed it up and used a bumble bee. I'm going to have to try this again and make some better flowers.

Here's an assortment of all my ELECTRIC bugs and flowers. :-)))))))
I made some frogs for a good friend. I didn't have a cutter so I hand cut these. That was my first time for hand cutting......and I need some serious help with that. Anyone want to offer advice on how to hand cut cookies????
I like how they turned out....nevertheless.

And finally.....my favorite cookie this go around......my ELECTIC VW bug cars. Hee hee hee. Aren't these fun? I got my inspiration from Karen's Cookies. Hers are so much better.....but I sure had fun trying.

I'm normally an early-to-bed kind of person.....but last night I was up until 11 PM doing cookies. My legs and feet hurt so bad. :-((((( The problem was that I had so many errands and taxiing jobs to do throughout yesterday.....so I didn't get started until 3 PM, and then got interrupted several times. THANKFULLY, my son, Kyle, got his license today so hopefully I won't be doing near the taxiing jobs. :-) We only have ONE teenager left to get her license.....hopefully in September.
I thought it funny that I'm talking about driving right below the car pics and it wasn't intentional at all.....

Awww.....Callye, you're so sweet. I can't wait to see your version of the bumblebee buzzing around. :-)

I love, love, love the electric colors. I can imagine many uses for them.

You've been busy again this week. I just looked at your blog. Girl....how do you make all those cookies AND take care of your family. Do you sleep?

I love the electric colors too -- I can't even pick a favorite cookie! I'm planning to make some topsy turvy cake cookies with the electrics for a niece's birthday.

The frogs are very cute -- you did a great job with your first hand cuts!

Thanks Cindy. I look forward to seeing your topsy turvy cookies (you will show me a pic, right?).

I was happy with the frog icing.....but the cookies were really rough around the edges. I need to work on the cutting process.

Thanks for your kindness.

Wow your cookies are amazing. If you don't mind me asking what icing did you use for the cute bumblebee's.

I have a link to "Sugar Cookie Icing" on the right side bar of this site. That is the main one I use. I use Sweet Annie's when I'm going to pipe things on the top with a firmer icing (flowers, grass, etc). Thanks for your nice comment. :-)

Thanks Janine.

No cookies in my sleep.....just making them twice a week. But I've decided to slow down this week and do other things. My cookie sales were slow yesterday and I've got lots left over to sell.....so why make more, ya know?

Pam, I've awarded you with a prestigious award. Just go to my blog to collect it and find your directions@

OK, here's my cakes, they were lots of fun to make. Remember, I'm at about 3rd grade decorating level!

Your cupcakes are wonderful too. I was studying (yes, that's what I do with cookies!) your cupcake paper detail -- which type icing do you use for that? Am I just too impatient, doing mine all at once, rather than doing one part and then letting it sit before moving on to the next?

Thanks for your help and inspiration!

Cindy,

Great job on the topsy turvy cake cookies. Thanks for sharing the link so I could see.

I guess you're thinking of someone else for the cupcakes because I don't do them. :-)

I meant your "birthday cuppies" from this post -- sorry, I just called them cupcakes!

CookieCrazieLady said...

Ooopps, sorry about that, Cindy. I completely forgot I made "cupcakes". ;-)

I used the same icing as always (with corn syrup) for those. Yes, you have to do the surface part and then add the sprinkles and wait to dry before adding the lines on the cupcake lines. :-)

I was reading back through your older posts...anyway, I just got done with a set of peace sign cookies for a disco themed school banquet...the order I asked you about outlining...and now I wish I had noticed the VW bugs before! I love them! I think yours are better than Karens. and I love those electric color. My peace signs are electric. Anyway, have you figured out how to make smoother edges when hand cutting? I had the same problem. TTYS!

Callye,
Smoother edges......no....I wish I had good advice. Someone told me to use the lid of a margarine or cool whip container to cut out my template and then it could be washed over and over. I tried it and it works well. However, as far as cutting nice even sides like a cutter.....it's not happening. This same lady suggested using a fondant roller wheel to cut around the template, but that didn't work well for me. So I got my sharp knife back out. It works, but it is not clean at all. I try to smooth the edges out with my finger.....but it looks kind of lame. If you figure out a better way, please let me know!
