Can't get enough Christmas :-)

Another try.....two more planned. :-) Cookies are wanted everywhere, you know.....especially this time of year. I'm lovin' in. Lots of practice time. Plus I can try new things.

This time around I ditched the gingerbread men just to simplify the mix.....didn't have to make brown TOO. lol But added more snowflakes and boy, do I love how they turn out. That edible glitter is awesome.

I only used shiny, hard icing this time....no butter or shortening icing on top. I've got to work on perfecting the shiny hard for the piped details on top since the shiny hard wants to flatten. The snowmen's carrot noses are just not the same....they look like little round balls with the shiny, hard icing!

I need it to be thicker, but pipe-able. I hope to just stay with this icing along since I love it so much. The shortening icing I've been using just doesn't cut it.....too greasy, and the colors are not as vibrant as with the shiny, hard. Practice, practice, practice.

I'm decorating more today.....so we'll see if I can get better at this.
;-)

Your cookies look so perfect and professional! We had fun making cookies the other day...the kids especially enjoyed the decorating. It may have to be a once-a-year kind of thing for us, though...it's a lot of work and clean-up (and the "help" is a little frustrating at times.) :)

I love your blog :) I think its honest and truthful and fun all at the same time :) I also am a huge fan of the powdered sugar/corn syrup icing, and have found that if you thicken it up, you can still get the great taste, but you have the "decorate-ability" of royal..just a thought :) Thanks for sharing your work-its wonderful!
